Ministry of Economy, Trade, Industry Internationalization Promotion Internship
This year as well, we welcomed an intern from India through the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Internationalization Promotion Internship Program.
She spoke Japanese in a very charming manner.
During her internship, she wrote a blog post sharing her thoughts and experiences.

It might sound cliche, but I have always wanted to work in Japan, my high school experience in Japan has inspired me to to apply for internships here, and I am extremely grateful to Kawatatec for providing me with this incredible opportunity.
Although I studied Finance and Business Operation, during this Internship, I was assigned a design-related task: designing a Website using SharePoint. I had no prior experience in design but little did I know that this task will change my career interests, I truly enjoyed the work, and now I aspire to study coding, UI/UX design, with the goal of turning this passion into a full time career.
No amount of interest can lead to a real growth if the work or learning environment is not supportive. I was very fortunate that my seniors were encouraging, patient, and always willing to help. Their guidance made this experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
Apart from my daily work related to company’s internal portal, I have always enjoyed interacting with people, and I had the opportunity to represent Kawatatec at an event hosted by NAIST. There, I interacted with various international students, answered their questions and gained new perspectives on cross-cultural communication.
During my time here, I also noticed how organized and structured daily schedules are in Japanese workplaces. This format helped me stay motivated and focused, as I always knew what my next task was and how to prioritize my work.
My experience in Japan extended beyond the workplace. I had a wonderful conversation with my advisor about my love for Japanese shrines, so she kindly took me to Omiwa jinja, followed by a visit to Tanzan jinja with other with company members.
To explore Kansai region further, the company president along with his wife took me to Osaka castle, which was truly a memorable experience. These outings were not only fun but also helped me strengthen my relationships with company members through casual conversations and shared experiences.
Overall, this internship has been a transformative experience. Experiencing design work for the first time, interacting with international students at the NAIST event, and immersing myself in Japanese culture have inspired me to continue exploring new skills and perspectives. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also strengthened my confidence in taking on unfamiliar challenges. I am excited to apply what I have learned and see how these experiences will shape my career and the opportunities that await me.
