Hello from Kawatatec!
It’s been a while since our last post 😢
As the title suggests, we’re excited to share that an intern from India has joined us here at Kawatatec since October!
Her name is Shreya, and her field of expertise is Electronics and Communication Engineering. At our company, she’s been working on projects involving IoT, using electronic devices and sensors.
On a different note, we also exhibited at JIMTOF (Japan International Machine Tool Fair) this year 🔥
Below is a report from Shreya, who accompanied us to the exhibition!
My First JIMTOF Experience
A Day at Tokyo Big Sight with Kawatatec

When I first heard I’d be attending JIMTOF 2024, I knew it would be a special experience, but nothing quite prepared me for the scale of this event. The Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF) is one of the largest showcases for industrial technology, bringing together professionals and tech enthusiasts from around the world to explore the latest in manufacturing. Representing KawataTec here made it all the more meaningful, especially as I learned just how big our presence in the industry truly is.
Tokyo Big Sight: A Spectacular Welcome

Arriving at Tokyo Big Sight, I was immediately struck by the sheer size of the venue. The crowds were unbelievable—over 33,900 visitors were there that day alone, filling the halls with a lively energy. Everywhere I looked, people were gathering to see the latest technologies, share insights, and talk about the future of manufacturing. It was a bustling scene, with a mix of international visitors, students, and industry veterans.
Booths, Innovations, and Our Place in the Industry

As I made my way through the exhibits, I was able to stop by countless booths featuring groundbreaking products and tools, from AI-powered machinery to IoT-integrated devices designed to streamline operations. But the real highlight was seeing our own Kawata Tech products in use at several major company displays. It was amazing to realize that the chucks we work on back at Kawata were trusted components in other companies’ innovations. Seeing our work out there, actively contributing to other products, really gave me a sense of pride and showed me the impact KawataTec has in the industry.
Connecting with the Industry

One of the best parts of the day was meeting and talking with so many people who were as passionate about technology as I am. At every booth, I found myself in conversations with industry experts who shared their projects and ideas, offering a glimpse into the wide variety of approaches people are taking to improve efficiency and drive innovation. Everyone I met was eager to connect and learn, making the experience feel like a collaborative exploration of what’s possible in manufacturing.
A Moment to Recharge

After a full day of exploration, we took a quick lunch break at a beautiful spot within the venue. It was a much-needed moment to recharge before diving back into the displays. By the time we were ready to leave, it was evening, and Tokyo Big Sight looked even more beautiful against the city lights—a perfect ending to an inspiring day.
Conclusion

Reflecting on the day, I realized how valuable this experience was, not just for my own growth, but as a glimpse into the kind of work and industry exposure future KawataTec interns can look forward to. From seeing our own products in action to connecting with professionals who are shaping the future, JIMTOF was an unforgettable opportunity to learn and be inspired. I left the event with a fresh perspective on what we do and a lot of excitement for what’s ahead!
That was Shreya’s report – thanks for reading!
Shreya did a wonderful job summarizing her experience at JIMTOF in a very clear and engaging way!
We only have a few days left together, but we’re looking forward to making the most of it.
Thank you, Shreya — and let’s enjoy the rest of your time with us! 😊
