ABOUT TOUCHDEX

 

OPERATION OF TOUCHDEX

No cables, No servo motor, Just bolt on and index!  TOUCHDEX is mounted on the machining center table in the same manner as a CNC index table for fully automatic indexing of the workpiece. In contrast to CNC index tables, the TOUCHDEX does not incorporate a servo motor, but uses the Z axis movement of the machining center to rotate the table for indexing.

Step 01

Move the machining center tool (φ10mm or larger tool) onto the pushbar on the top of TOUCHDEX.

Step 02

Using the Z axis movement of the machining center, press the pushbar with the tool.

The table is clamped automatically when the pushbar is returned.

The indexing angle of the table is controlled by changing the Z axis movement.

When the table is rotated 45° with the pushbar full stroke, a movement of 5° is achieved by pushing the pushbar 5/45th of the stroke.

  • ・The minimum indexing angle and maximum indexing angle at full stroke differs between models
  • ・The feed rate on the Z axis when the pushbar is pressed is normally 1000mm per minute. However, The feed rate must be decreased when indexing unbalanced work.

Feature 01

HEAVY MACHINING, HIGH-SPEED CUTTING BY STRONG CLAMPING FORCE

There is a feature of TOUCHDEX in its strong clamping force.
  • The use of a locking pin to fix the workpiece provides a clamping force 2 to 3 times that of an ordinary index table, thus allowing heavy machining. Can be used for milling, end milling, drilling or tapping.

Feature 02

EASILY MOUNTED

TOUCHDEX can be mounted on a pallet changer, a horizontal machining center and so on.
  • As a power control cable is not required, installation on the machine is simplified. Mounting the TOUCHDEX on a suitable machine at the right time, makes automatic indexing possible and creates a flexible production system.

Feature 03

MINIMUM SPACE REQUIRED

TOUCHDEX has no motorized parts
  • Since it has no motorized parts, it can be installed in a minimum amount of space.
  • ・Area required for installation is approximately half that of the normal index table.
  • ・By lining up a two or more TOUCHDEX on the table, multiple surface of a plurality of workpieces can be machined simultaneously.

Feature 05

SIMPLY INDEXING

No tool-change for indexing
  • ・Pushbar can be pushed with the tool which has a rigidity capable of pressing load (φ10mm or larger tool as a guide) though the tool is being used for machining.
  • ・Tool change is not needed by pressing with collet holder or axis cover even when a fine tool is being used.

Indxing and Rotation in Two Direction

  • ・Push the right pushbar for indexing in the clockwise direction.
  • ・Push the left pushbar for indexing and rotation in the anti-clockwise direction.

  • ・Mchining in diagonal direction is much simplified using the inclined table.
